GIVEN A BODY
What happens when materials designed for protection, containment and communication are given a body?

Materials are often defined by what they are made to do.
Plastic bags contain. Bubble film protects. Paper communicates.
In this project, those functions are interrupted.

Three everyday materials; black polyethylene film, polyethylene bubble film, and uncoated woodfree paper. Transformed into garments, challenging the boundary between clothing, material and sculpture.

What is normally protective becomes wearable. What is disposable becomes architectural. What is
used to communicate becomes a physical surface.

The three looks exist as an exploration of transformation and perception, inviting familiar
materials to be seen outside of their expected roles. Through photography, their textures,
transparency, volume and constructed forms become the focus, creating a visual dialogue between
the human body and materials never intended to become clothing.

A study of the ordinary becoming unfamiliar.
